Ring, Ring: Is It Really Google Calling?

One of my favorite things to blog about, is a blog I’ve already written. 🙂 It’s easy. So I’m picking an extremely relevant one that should apply to all businesses, regardless of social media goals, needs or strategy. Many of you read about my Google Plus Verification saga back in February. While I’m happy to report that as of now, all is good in the world of Atiba and Cabedge Google Plus Local Pages, apparently that’s not the case for everyone.

Listen to this Voicemail I received the other day. Is it really Google calling? Probably not, but the content of the VM is relevant. Your business may not have the correct information showing on your Google Plus Local Page. This would be because you haven’t taken the time to verify it. It’s not hard, and Google is making constant improvements to the process.

Not only that, but at a couple recent speaking engagements, I’ve hit on the fact that Google is less and less “the man/woman behind the curtain.” You can call them for advice, or they’ll email you to set up a time to talk about your marketing.

If you do no other social media spring cleaning this year, make sure you Google your business’ name and check out what information Google is listing on your Plus Local Page. Take the steps to get it verified and post the correct business information.
